Since early 2000s, we have been helping companies reduce their energy consumption and food waste.

Our product suite for this position is a hybrid SaaS solution running partially on local installations and in the cloud. We have a broad tech stack with PhP, Erlang and Elixir in the backend, and Elm in the frontend. Our solution is built on a combination of relational and time-series databases. Our technology stack will evolve, and we welcome competence that goes beyond our current stack.
We are now looking for a Software Developer to join our team.

As a software developer within Kiona, you are responsible together with your team to deliver new features, fixes, and improvement of the product. The work shall support the company’s overall strategy to bring a great set of features, with high quality and security, with focus on both customer experience and deliverability.
You will help the company to improve its internal processes and tools when needed to ensure the scalability of the organization and product delivery. You will work closely with other developers in the team, as well as work closely with other departments when necessary.

Core competencies

1. Backend development
   You will be delivering prioritized features and bugfixes, as well as product maintenance and modernization of legacy code.
2. Architecture and design
   You will contribute to design solutions that adhere to our architecture principles, security requirements and usability guidelines.
3. DevOps
   You bring in competence and experience from applying cloud and container technologies. You will be an important resource in modernizing and upgrading our platform.
4. Developer experience and teamwork
   All developers are expected to contribute to implementing best practices of agile software development in their team and the company. This being through mentoring, usage of development tools and challenging status quo.

You are a technology driven developer who take pride in delivering quality SW. You are a team player who have strong communication skills and can articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Furthermore, you are an excellent problem solver who enjoy the never-ending learning nature of software development.

If you in addition can bring in experience from other domains not listed above, we are eager to learn from you. Domains like QA, cloud and cloud migration, time series DBs, linux server operations, network and infrastructure, are some examples. These are not requirements for the position, but interesting to Kiona going forward.

• Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent education within a relevant field
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a software developer
