Xirgo Technologies is recruiting a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, who will contribute as part of a global research and development team delivering multiple IoT solutions. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of IoT device test automation platform. Test automation platform is primarily used to make sure any potential issues are discovered and fixed before hardware/firmware is deployed on a customer fleet. The system comprises of in-house built test rack using multiple Raspberry Pi controlled boards to run test cases and orchestrate hardware resource usage to speed up time to test reports.

Your role will be to build new test cases, coming up with test plans together with firmware/hardware team and supporting existing tests to make sure every day we get as close as possible to 100 percent test coverage. Your exposure would consist of many technologies that build up IoT solution including device management platform for OTA updates, telemetry server, network communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, TCP, TLS), cellular radio technologies (LTE, 3G, 2G), BLE, serial communication interfaces (USB, RS232, RS485, CAN), memories, file systems, encryption engines that build up a secure and robust IoT solution. Your testing scope would include both unit level and full system integration.

With a range of IoT devices currently in development you will need to build a system that is not only able to run multiple test cases but also scales well and is able to provide reliable test reports in a timely manner.

• Contribute to the development of telematics device end to end test automation platform;
• Support the integration of new IoT devices to test infrastructure, write new test cases, build test reports and create quality metrics;
• Collaborate with global firmware/hardware teams to design test automation for new features and solutions using telematics devices.

• At least 1 year of experience in device testing;
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent relevant work experience;
• Experience in writing code with C, Python or any other programming language;
• Understanding of electronics schematics and ability to troubleshoot;
• Good English language skills.
